First Ever Vericoin Party at Bitcoin Center NYC

Published at: July 22, 2014

Bitcoin Center NYC, the city's only brick-and-mortar institution dedicated to the further adoption of Bitcoin, announced today that it will host the first ever VeriCoin party on Monday, July 28.

As home base for all things digital currency, Bitcoin Center NYC is delighted to celebrate the success of VeriCoin with its dynamic community of supporters.

About VeriCoin

VeriCoin is a proof-of-stake altcoin that represents an innovative approach to gaining merchant acceptance in the digital currency realm. Since its launch in May of this year, VeriCoin has experienced traction in fortifying merchant willingness to accept the digital currency and facilitating seamless transactions for consumers.

Coupled with the use of VeriBit, a value-added service that connects VeriCoin users to merchants who accept Bitcoin, the network creates tremendous incentive for users. The service is designed to be user-friendly and is geared towards making smaller transactions more manageable. The network continues to grow with the addition of VeriSend, a transaction mixing service, and VeriSMS a text-based wallet system. VeriCoin will undoubtedly continue its commitment to transforming the user experience, and we are thrilled to celebrate these promising developments.

Meet the Development Team

David Boehm, Patrick Nosker and Douglas Pike are the three key VeriCoin developers. Each uniquely intercepted the digital currency spectrum and has embraced its enormous potential. Having worked for the US Department of Defense for the US Army Corps of Engineers, David Boehm is a prominent Software Development Engineer for a cloud computing group. David is a recipient of the prestigious SMART scholarship and hit the ground running with digital currency after his first introduction with Dogecoin.

Since late 2009 Patrick Nosker developed experience mining Bitcoin and other altcoins, subsequently deciding to improve the industry landscape. Patrick commented about the upcoming event:

"We are very excited to share VeriCoin with New York and to celebrate the beginnings of VeriCoin with the community."

Patrick holds three US patents, and as a dual PhD candidate in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, he is the co-inventor of five or more additional patents including one on influenza therapeutics with Douglas Pike.

Douglas Pike is a PhD candidate in Biomedical Engineering, and his Computational Biophysics background secured him as the lead developer of a novel protein design software library and a regarded author of numerous scientific publications. He was similarly driven to increase stability and innovation in the industry and thus passionately lent his efforts to VeriCoin.

In a keynote speech at the Blockchain Economy Dubai Summit 2022, Jarvis pointed out that massive losses of investor funds like the collapse of Terra and the Axie Infinity Ronin hack have made DeFi unappealing to potential users.
