From Debates to Parties: BlockShow Highlights Its Key Moments
The Festival of Decentralized Technology, BlockShow Asia 2019, taking place in Singapore on Nov. 14–15, has announced its highlights: conferences, fireside chats, meetups and other sorts of activities.
Fireside chats and debates
First of all, the guests of BlockShow Asia will have the chance to visit a fireside chat, “All That Fintech With a ‘Layer’ of Blockchain,” with Sopnendu Mohanty, the chief fintech officer at the Monetary Authority of Singapore, and Gabriel Yang, the new head of Asia for BlockShow 2019 and the former chief operations officer of Beyond Blocks.
BlockShow Asia will also feature an interview with Changpeng Zhao, the founder and CEO of Binance, the crypto exchange that is currently creating its own ecosystem. The fireside chat with Zhao will be moderated by Joanna Ossinger, Bloomberg's markets editor, and will cover such topics as the Venus stablecoin project, Binance US, the company’s vision for 2020 and more.
For Bitcoin holders and cryptocurrency investors, BlockShow Asia 2019 has asked Thomas Lee — a well-known Wall Street analyst, as well as managing partner and head of research at Fundstrat Global Advisors — to share his views on the price of crypto, its impact and what awaits the crypto market in 2020.
On Nov. 14, right after the BlockShow Asia Grand Opening, Da Hongfei, the founder of Neo, is going to give a speech on the state of the decentralized web in 2019.
A bit later, a fireside chat on privacy with David Chaum, founder at Praxxis and Elixxir, will take place. It will be moderated by Jay Cassano, the new executive editor at Cointelegraph.
In a bid to share the latest trends and updates being developed in the blockchain industry, the conference organizers invited Brian Behlendorf, the executive director at Hyperledger. Behlendorf will also talk about the potential of open-source software and the possibilities to build our future on the blockchain.
The highlight of the Gaming & DApps includes a conference with such experts as Daniel Doll-Steinberg, co-founder of Atari Token; John Linden, CEO of Mythical Games; Nicolas Pouard, blockchain initiative director at Ubisoft Strategic Innovation Lab; and Yat Siu, co-founder and chairman of Amonica Brands — all under the moderation of Jon Jordan, director of communications at DappRadar. The pannel will discuss the commitment of “AAA" video game studios to blockchain. The debate will highlight the future prospects of blockchain games in revolutionizing the gaming industry and the main obstacles on their way to success.
The next event, which will be lead by Ben Goertzel, the CEO at SingularityNET, is devoted to artificial intelligence. The major point of discussion is the next milestone in AI development: the more flexible and autonomous “artificial general intelligence.”
Meetups, master classes and parties
Between Nov. 12 and 16, BlockShow Asia’s guests will be able to take part in side events. These events involve various parties and meetups including NEOFest and Tenx, as well as educational master classes such as “The Future of Digital Money.” On the last day, guests are invited to Bitcoiner #1 at ABI Plaza, a Trader Cobb master class as well as a Crypto DeFiance event at the National Gallery Singapore.
When it comes to fun, BlockShow Asia offers such activities as the "Crypto Busters" startup show, which will include a competition segment called “Board of Investors vs. Selected Blockchain Startups, and the Trading Competition.
Moreover, guests will have the chance to meet well-known bloggers and YouTubers with over 30 million views, including such crypto figures as Lark Davis, Michael Nye and Carl Eric Martin. For journalists, BlockShow Asia 2019 has organized Medialogue, which will bring top media outlets under one roof.
The team notes that BlockShow is surrounded by an accompanying event.
