Fundstrat Global Advisors’ Bitcoin (BTC) analyst Tom Lee said that he is “pleasantly surprised” by the recent stability of BTC in an interview on CNBC’s Squawk Box Oct. 29. Lee expressed surprise at Bitcoin’s recent behavior given a recent 9 percent slump in equity markets. Investment strategist William Peets has pointed to a widespread underestimation of the deflationary impact of cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin and blockchain for global finance. Peets is currently CIO and portfolio manager for digital asset strategies at Passport Capital. Research has detailed Bitcoin’s recent record-low volatility and while traders expect an eventual price breakout, the Oct. 26 BTC price move to $21,000 is not yet being interpreted as confirmation that $20,000 has now become support. In a recent “The Week On-chain Newsletter,” Glassnode analysts mapped out a bull case and a bear case for BTC.
