Analysts say this key metric suggests an altcoin season is at hand
Bitcoin’s (BTC) 65% recovery from sub-$29,500 on July 20 to a swing high of $48,200 on Aug. 14 took less than a month and helped bring fresh bullish momentum back to the crypto market and to traders who were dreading the prospect of another prolonged bear market. Currently, the BTC rally has stalled out near the $46,000 price level, and this phase of sideways trading is giving altcoins an opportunity to step forward. As shown in the chart below, the total market capitalization of the altcoin market has risen 80% since July 20. Meanwhile, the Bitcoin dominance rate is down …

Analyst says Bitcoin could see ‘a smaller drawdown and a quicker bottom'
The cryptocurrency faithful got a reprieve from recent market struggles thanks to a rally in decentralized finance (DeFi) tokens and Dogecoin (DOGE) on June 2. A bit of a breakout in the price of Ether (ETH) and Bitcoin (BTC) may have also lifted sentiment, but at the moment, the top-ranked digital assets are still meeting pushback at key overhead resistance levels. Data from Cointelegraph Markets Pro and TradingView shows that the price of Bitcoin rallied 7.3% from a low of $35,645 on June 1 to an intraday high at $38,250 on June 2, and Ether saw a similar-sized gain of …

DeFi tokens bag double-digit gains as bears pin Bitcoin price below $33K
Today Bitcoin (BTC) price continued to face selling pressure in the $32,500 to $33,000 resistance cluster and this led to a mild 3% to 5% pull back from most altcoins. Despite the recent revelation that BlackRock, the world’s largest asset manager, has given the green light for two of its funds to invest in Bitcoin futures, BTC price still struggles to gain momentum above the $33,000 level. Meanwhile, the DeFi sector continues to flourish as Venus (XVS) and Fantom (FTM) saw their prices increase 23% overnight and the total value locked in DeFi protocols currently stands at $25.77 billion. Following …

Hedge fund predicts $115K Bitcoin price and the fall of ‘speculative’ altcoins
New data from Pantera Capital, an investment firm and hedge fund, suggests that Bitcoin’s (BTC) current price action is closely following the stock-to-follow model’s trajectory and the firm’s analysts believe BTC will reach $115,212 by Aug. 1. Bitcoin’s parabolic rally may have placed the price a bit ahead of the model’s projection and this week’s 28% correction sent temporary shivers across the market but sharp corrections and short consolidation periods are characteristic of bull markets. The model focuses on the price impact of Bitcoin halving events that cut the amount of Bitcoin minted every block in half every 4 years. …

How long will the crypto bear market last? Raoul Pal's macro analysis
Macro investor Raoul Pal is convinced that the current crypto bear market will end only once the Fed eases its hawkish monetary policy by halting interest rate hikes. That could happen in the next couple of months, according to Pal's predictions. “The Fed are unlikely to raise rates as far and as fast as people expect. My guess is they probably stop raising rates sometime in the summer and that will be it,” he said in an exclusive interview with Cointelegraph. Pal sees the combination of high interest rates and fear of an upcoming recession as the main macro factors …
