“It’s an amazing feeling to go from a wooden box/Raspberry Pi prototype in February to shipping a hardened steel production model in October,” said Zach Harvey, CEO of Lamassu in an interview to CoinDesk. During the first week company had already got another 13 clients waiting for new ATM all over the world, including Slovakia, China, France, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Finland, Denmark, Sweden and Brazil. Harvey mentioned the names of two next places where produced machines are going – the Crypto-Currency Conference in Atlanta and the Money2020 Conference in Las Vegas. In the second run company is going to ship over 25 units in late November. The company is now accepting orders for the third run, which will ship in the first quarter of 2014. Bitcoin ATM Firm Partners With Largest Shopping Mall Operator in US
Miami-based Bitcoin (BTC) automatic teller machines (ATM) firm Bitstop has partnered with the largest shopping mall operator in the United States, Simon Malls, to install Bitcoin ATMs at several locations. BitStop announced on Nov. 26 that the firm has already installed Bitcoin ATMs at five Simon Malls locations in California, Florida and Georgia. Spain overtakes El Salvador to become third largest crypto ATM hub
The European country of Spain is officially home to the third-largest network of Bitcoin (BTC) and cryptocurrency ATMs after the United States and Canada. Lightning Network gets physical form in Australia with Bitcoin ATM
The Australian city of Coolangatta has got its first Bitcoin (BTC) ATM with integrated Lightning network capabilities. The new ATM has been installed at The Strand shopping center in Coolangatta and is now available for use by the public. UK FCA to take action against unregistered, illegal cryptocurrency ATMs
The United Kingdom’s financial regulator, Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), is coming for unregistered cryptocurrency automated teller machines (ATMs). THe FCA and the cyber team at West Yorkshire Police have taken action against several sites in and around Leeds city suspected of hosting illegally operated crypto ATMs. Announcing the news on Feb. 14, the FCA emphasized that no crypto ATM operators in the United Kingdom currency have FCA registration.
