Former SushiSwap CTO writes short reflection about leadership failures at blockchain DEX
On Friday, Joseph Delong, former chief technology officer of decentralized exchange, or DEX, SushiSwap, published a brief reflection of experiences during his tenure. Delong unilaterally resigned two days prior, citing internal structural chaos among developers behind the popular DEX. In explaining his decision, Delong outlined failures to scale operations, lack of organization skills, problematic contributors, and poor communication as the primary reasons. On Twitter and among blockchain personalities alike, Delong received mostly praises for coming public with his experience and learning from his mistakes. According to Delong, he did not inform the Sushi community when problems began to surface amongst …

FLUX, SFP and Badger DAO surge even as Bitcoin price falls to $47K
The year-long mantra that the crypto market would see a blow-off top in December has proven to be a dud thus far and for the last week, most cryptocurrencies have been under sell pressure and Bitcoin (BTC) is encountering difficulty in trading above $47,000. That said, it's not all bad news for cryptocurrency holders on Friday because several altcoins have managed to post double-digit gains due to new exchange listings and protocol upgrades. Data from Cointelegraph Markets Pro and TradingView shows that the biggest gainers over the past 24-hours were Flux (FLUX), SafePal (SFP) and Badger DAO (BADGER). FLUX benefits …

Congressman jokes about a Mongoose Coin: Now it exists
Democratic representative for California Brad Sherman joked about how ridiculous a “Mongoose Coin” would be on Wednesday — and by Friday it had become a reality. During Wednesday’s hearing on crypto at the House Financial Services Committee, Sherman spun a tale of an old woman who swallows bigger and bigger animals to eat the animals previously swallowed. He likened this fable to cryptocurrencies dethroning each other, explaining that Bitcoin (BTC) could be unseated by Ethereum (ETH), which in turn could be displaced by Dogecoin (DOGE), and then Hamster Coin, and then Cobra Coin. “What could Mongoose Coin do to Crypto …

Data shows pro traders are currently more bullish on Ethereum than Bitcoin
Most traders have noticed that Ether (ETH) price has seriously outperformed Bitcoin (BTC) for months now and the ETH/BTC ratio has rallied more than 230% in 2021 and recently hit a new high at 0.089 BTC on Dec. 9. To put things in perspective, Ether's $490 billion market capitalization currently represents 54% of Bitcoin's $903 billion. This ratio finished 2020 at a mere 15%, so it is safe to conclude that some 'flippening' has occurred. It might still be far from what Ethereum-maximalists imagined, but it is still quite a respectable run. Instead of analyzing the rationale for the move …

Polygon to invest up to 250M MATIC into zero-knowledge tech
Ethereum scaling solution Polygon has announced it will dedicate a maximum of 250 million MATIC tokens ($627.5 million) to a deal with zero-knowledge cryptography startup Mir. Zero-knowledge algorithms enable external validators to verify encrypted transactions or documents without revealing the sensitive information hidden underneath. It is useful for complex decentralized finance applications, such as decentralized ride-share apps or decentralized health insurance, where nodes need to verify the personal data of blockchain participants without risking privacy leaks. Mir specializes in developing two subcategories of zero-knowledge proofs: PLONK and Halo. Both represent advancements over previous SNARK and STARK cryptography techniques, allowing proofs …

Terra becomes top-10 crypto: Classic 'bull pennant' setup paint $100 LUNA price target
Terra (LUNA) faces the prospects of hitting $100 in the coming weeks as it paints a classic bull pennant structure. In detail, Bull Pennants appear as the price trends inside a Triangle pattern after a strong move upside. Many analysts see it as a sign of bullish continuation, i.e., they think the instrument would eventually break above the Triangle's upper trendline to resume its price rally higher. Additionally, the profit target of a Bull Pennant structure typically comes to be equal to the length equal to the size of the previous price rally, called Flagpole, when measured from the breakout …
