Ethereum shillers call for $5K ETH, and this time derivatives data is backing them up
Ether (ETH) pundits have been shouting that the $5,000 price is 'programmed,' since 2018 and some go even further by calling for $20,000 over the long-term. $5000 $ETH. It is programmed. — Koroush AK (@KoroushAK) October 29, 2021 A portion of these bullish calls are based on ETH 2.0 staking and the reduced inflation resulting from EIP-1559. At this time in 2017, $BTC was around $2k Just 7 months later it was almost $20k What do you think happens when the world wakes up to the APR and deflationary aspect of $ETH that is coming in less than 2 months? …

Bitcoin price descending channel and loss of momentum could turn $60K to resistance
Bitcoin (BTC) appears to lack the strength to retest the $67,000 all-time high that it reached on Oct. 20 and this is causing investors to question whether or not the bullish moment has faded. Even with the price facing these hurdles, it’s still premature to call the $58,000 support level test the beginning of a descending channel. Among the factors limiting the rally is the regulatory uncertainty in the United States. Anne Termine, a partner in the government enforcement and investigations practice at Bracewell LLP and former chief trial attorney at the Commodities Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), said that “there …

Data shows Ethereum bulls expect a new ATH after Friday’s $1.25B ETH options expiry
Ether (ETH) has gained 950% in 2021 and from the look of things the altcoin has no intent of stopping. This can also be seen in the ultra-optimistic bets for October’s $1.25 billion options expiry. However, this phenomenon is not exclusive to Ether bulls. The right to acquire Ether at a fixed price in the future does not come at a cheap price. On Sep. 4, the $5,000 call option for Oct. monthly expiry was trading at ETH 0.082 which is equivalent to $320. Unfortunately, for the bulls, these options are now worthless. Gas fees on Ethereum transactions are still …

Friday’s jaw-breaking $3.2B Bitcoin options expiry could kick-start a new rally
Bitcoin (BTC) has been trading in a descending channel pattern since its $67,000 all-time high on Oct. 20, which was just one day after ProShares’ Bitcoin Strategy ETF (BITO) debuted at Nasdaq. However, bulls have a sufficient number of incentives to peg Bitcoin's price above $60,000 on Oct. 29 when the $3.2 billion monthly options expiry settles. Currently, investors are displaying mixed feelings about the exchange-traded fund’s approval, even though it reached $1 billion in assets under management in 48 hours. Either market expectations for these funds were insanely high, or the 42% gain in October until Oct. 19 was …

Expanding ecosystem and $1.86B futures open interest back Solana’s $250 target
Solana (SOL) price is meeting resistance near its all-time high again, but solid fundamentals and the impressive growth of its decentralized finance (DeFi) and non-fungible token (NFT) ecosystem are likely to drive the altcoin above $250 before year-end. Institutional investor interest is likely a key factor behind Solana’s impressive 490% gain since August. For example, SOL is the fourth largest Bitwise 10 Crypto Index Fund ($BITW) component, which overall is a $1.3 billion over-the-counter tradable market instrument. Traders should remember that this event is not necessarily positive since futures contracts require both a buyer (long) and a seller (short). Nevertheless, …

Binance CEO expects ‘very high volatility’ in crypto. Here’s how to trade it
Volatility is a complex statistical measure commonly used by traders and investors. Those unfamiliar with it will likely attribute some sort of special ‘standing’ to analysts whenever the term is used. However, as shown in a recent comment by Binance exchange founder, Changpeng Zhao, most of the time people are clueless about what volatility means. Expect very high volatility in #crypto over the next few months. — CZ Binance (@cz_binance) October 21, 2021 This is not the first time that CZ has made an incorrect assumption on that topic. In May, CZ said that volatility was "not unique to crypto," …

Is excessive bullish optimism behind Bitcoin’s drop below $60K?
Bitcoin (BTC) has a long history of forming local tops when events that are anticipated by the market occur. The recent Bitcoin exchange-traded fund (ETF) launch on Oct. 19 was no different and led to a 53% monthly rally to an all-time high at $67,000. Now that the price has briefly fallen below $60,000, investors are attempting to understand if the 10% correction was a healthy short-term profit taking or the end of the bull run. To determine this, traders need to analyze BTC's previous price activity to evaluate the possible similarities. The chart above depicts the day of a …

Bulls fight to keep Ethereum price above $4K ahead of Friday’s $435M options expiry
Ether (ETH) flirted with its $4,380 all-time high on Oct. 21 but failed to breach it by a few dollars. Some analysts, including independent market analyst Scott Melker, believe that an exchange-traded fund (ETF) approval is the next logical step for the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). My bet is we will see an Ethereum Futures ETF before we see a physical Bitcoin ETF. — The Wolf Of All Streets (@scottmelker) October 20, 2021 However disappointed Ether bulls might be, they are likely to score a $78 million profit on Oct. 22's options expiry. Bears were apparently caught off-guard …

Bulls target $100 Filecoin (FIL) after data points to improving fundamentals
Some traders have said that Filecoin (FIL) has lost its momentum because its current price at $64 is more than 70% below its all-time high at $238. However, this decentralized data-sharing platform is showing signs of increasing adoption and this could cause the FIL token price to accelerate its current uptrend. The FIL token is used to purchase storage space and retrieve data from the Filecoin Network. At the same time, its users gain rewards for selling their excess storage using this open-source platform. To compete with existing centralized cloud storage services, Filecoin has economic incentives to ensure files are …

ProShares Bitcoin ETF to debut on NYSE on Oct. 19
The first Bitcoin (BTC) futures-linked exchange-traded fund in the United States, ProShares’ Bitcoin Strategy ETF, will begin trading on the New York Stock Exchange on Tuesday under the ticker BITO. ProShares CEO Michael Sapir said the launch marks an important milestone for cryptocurrency ETFs in the U.S. following several years of effort to list one on an exchange: “BITO will continue the legacy of ETFs that provide investors convenient, liquid access to an asset class. 1993 is remembered for the first equity ETF, 2002 for the first bond ETF, and 2004 for the first gold ETF. 2021 will be remembered …

Traders celebrate Bitcoin's impending ETF, but options markets are less certain
The United States Securities and Exchange Commission, or SEC, is expected to rule on Oct. 18 whether to approve an application from asset manager ProShare Capital Management for a Bitcoin exchange-traded fund (ETF). As previously reported by Cointelegraph, SEC Chairman Gary Gensler recently suggested that the regulator is more inclined to approve indirect-exposure Bitcoin futures ETFs under the Investment Company Act of 1940. On Oct.15, the Nasdaq Stock Market certified the registration of Valkyrie's Bitcoin Strategy ETF shares for listing. The deadline for the SEC to officially approve Valkyrie's ETF application is Oct. 25, but this could be extended to …
