Romanian university plans to accept crypto payments for admission fees
A public university in the Romanian city of Sibiu in Transylvania has said it will allow students to pay for their admission fees in crypto. According to an announcement from Lucian Blaga University of Sibiu on Wednesday, the institution plans to implement crypto payment methods for its more than 11,000 students starting in July. Thai SEC says investors should have crypto trading experience
Thailand’s Securities and Exchange Commission has clarified its guidelines to stipulate that those trading cryptocurrencies in the country should have some foundational knowledge. In a Facebook Live video from the Thai SEC today, secretary-general Ruenvadee Suwanmongkol said the regulatory body’s proposed guidelines now say that people interested in investing in digital assets must have previous experience in crypto trading. Teletubbies, a British children's television series that has been on the air since 1997, is showing signs that its loveable characters may become the newest entrants to the crypto space. Students in Georgia set to be taught about crypto at high school
The Georgia House of Representatives has passed a bill that calls for state education officials to implement a study program based around financial literacy for high schoolers — and cryptocurrency is on the curriculum list. The bill passed the lower chamber of Georgia on March 8 by a vote of 169-2. The bill was sponsored by six Republican candidates and has been sent to the Senate for further deliberation. Thai SEC consults public on crypto investor income rules
The Securities and Exchange Commission of Thailand has launched a public consultation on proposed cryptocurrency investor qualification rules. According to an official announcement Thursday, the Thai SEC is now seeking public comments on proposed qualifications for crypto investors including certain income and trading experience requirements.
