Low cap crypto is like penny stocks, says Wolf of Wall Street
Former stockbroker Jordan Belfort, known colloquially as the “Wolf of Wall Street” has likened low market cap crypto assets to penny stocks due to their extreme price volatility. Penny stocks refer to highly speculative shares priced under $1 from small and unknown companies. Generally they either fetch massive returns for investors or crash and burn dramatically. Belfort's rise to prominence in the 90s and eventual run in with the Securities and Exchange Commision (SEC), was in part, due to brokering deals for these stocks. During an interview with Yahoo Finance on Aug. 27, Belfort noted that these types of investments …

The bottom is in: CNBC’s Jim Cramer says crypto has ‘no real value’
Some in the crypto community believe the market bottom may now be in after CNBC host Jim Cramer, given his track record, said there was “no real value in crypto” and predicted the market would tumble further. Cramer is known for giving his investment expertise as the host of CNBC’s “Mad Money” but has developed a reputation in the crypto community for giving stock and crypto tips that generally end up being widely off the mark or the complete opposite of his prediction. His predictions, along with his on-again-off-again love-hate relationship with crypto, have become a popular meme among the …

NFT hype evidently dead as daily sales in June 2022 dip to one-year lows
Nonfungible tokens (NFTs) took center stage in the year 2021 as artists, influencers, A-list celebrities and the sports industry finally came across a fan engagement tool that empowered the general public to cash in on their success. However, the hype around NFT did not manage to stand its ground, as sales plummeted to one-year lows amid the ruthless bear market of 2022. The NFT boom, which started in early 2021, upheld its glory until May 2022 — supported by a healthy and bullish crypto ecosystem and positive investor sentiment. However, Bitcoin’s (BTC) struggle to hold on to its all-time high …

Ethereum risks 'bull trap' after 25% ETH price rebound
Ethereum's token Ether (ETH) could be entering a "bull trap" zone after rebounding back above the $1,000 mark from 18-month lows of $885. Ether price paints a "rising wedge" The first among these indicators is a "rising wedge," a classic bearish reversal setup that forms after the price trends upward inside a range defined by two ascending but converging trendlines. The wedge setup gains further confirmation if the trading volume drops alongside the rising prices. Theoretically, a rising wedge resolves after the price breaks below its lower trendline and eyes a run-down toward the level at length equal to the …

Traders target $1,400 Ethereum price after ETH drops closer to a critical support level
On June 8, the Ethereum network successfully underwent the merge to become proof-of-stake on its Ropsten testnet, but the news had little impact on ETH price. With the Ropsten upgrade now looking more like a “buy the rumor, sell the news” type of event, most analysts have kept a short-term bearish outlook for Ether price. Let's take a look. Can Ether escape the head-and-shoulders pattern? Pseudonymous Twitter analyst "Cactus" pointed out a bearish head-and-shoulders pattern and questioned whether Ether price would be able to follow the sharp downside that typically follows the completion of the pattern. Cactus said, “This is …

Bitcoin price recovers $31.5K, but traders say ‘scam’ price action will bring more downside
Bitcoin's (BTC) short-term price action has been dominated by whipsaws that trigger around the $31,000 to $32,000 level and the June 6 reversal at this point triggered a quick sell-off that pushed the price down to $29,200. Surprisingly, on June 7, the price rapidly reversed course as Bitcoin rallied back to $31,500, but given the current rejection at this level, traders are likely to proceed cautiously, rather than expect a quick surge to $35,000. Here’s what several analysts are saying about the short-term outlook for BTC and what support levels to keep an eye on moving forward. A clear redistribution …

Ethereum preparing a 'bear trap' ahead of the Merge — ETH price to $4K next?
Ethereum's native token, Ether (ETH), continues to face downside risks in a higher interest rate environment. But one analyst believes that the token's next selloff move could turn into a bear trap as the market factors in the possible release of the Merge this coming August. ETH to $4K? Ether's price could reach $4,000 by 2022's end, according to a technical setup shared on May 20 by Wolf, an independent market analyst. The analyst envisioned ETH moving inside a multi-month ascending triangle pattern, which comprises a horizontal trendline resistance and rising trendline support. Notably, ETH's latest retest of the structure's …

Here’s why Terra’s snowball effect could send Avalanche (AVAX) price to $15
Avalanche (AVAX) has emerged as one of the worst-performing cryptocurrencies among the top-ranking tokens in the last 24 hours, partially due to fears connected to Terra (LUNA) and it's a near-dead UST algorithmic stablecoin project. Avalanche price dips amid Terra's tax evasion FUD AVAX's price plunged by nearly 14% between May 18, where it traded near $35 to May 19 when the price dipped to $28.50. Stablecoin supplies and cash reserves in question amid crypto exodus
Cryptocurrency investors and traders have cashed out $7.7 billion from the stablecoin Tether (USDT), resulting in its market capitalization falling by 7.8% over the past seven days to $76 billion. The amount withdrawn from the top stablecoin is nearly double the $4.1 billion it held in cash reserves at the end of 2021, according to Tether’s latest reserves report from December 2021. To maintain Tether’s peg with the United States dollar, the company behind the token backs USDT with assets such as cash, bonds and Treasury bills, the purpose being that each token is backed by at least $1 worth …
