AVAX traders anticipate a new ATH even as Avalanche DApp use slows
Avalanche (AVAX) jumped 43.8% between March 14 and March 31 to a $97.50 daily close, which is the highest level since Jan. 5. This layer-1 scaling solution uses a proof-of-stake model and has amassed $9 billion in total value locked (TVL) deposited on the network’s smart contracts. Subnet adoption propels the recent price rally Some analysts attribute the rally to Avalanche’s incentive program to accelerate the adoption of subnets which was announced on March 9. According to the Avalanche Foundation, subnets enable functions that are only possible with “network-level control and open experimentation.” The program will allocate up to four …

Ethereum risks 'double-bust' drop despite ETH price rebounding 30% in two weeks
It took Ethereum's native token Ether (ETH) only two months to recover from a brutal selloff at the beginning of 2022. ETH price breaks out but risks remain ETH price reached near $3,350 on March 28 after rallying by over 30% in just two weeks, and by more than 50% when measured from its year-to-date low of around $2,160, established Jan. 24. In doing so, the ETH/USD pair may have also "busted" what earlier appeared to be a bearish continuation setup, called the "symmetrical triangle." "Busted patterns (when the breakout is in one direction only to see price reverse and …

Crypto Biz: Do you believe in Ethereum killers? Put your money where your mouth is, March 18–24
While crypto markets are still in a state of “fear,” as evidenced by Bitcoin’s Fear & Greed Index, the industry as a whole is giving us reasons to be bullish. This week’s Crypto Biz newsletter looks at a new Grayscale product that’s giving accredited investors more ways to bet on the so-called “Ethereum killers.” We also document two funding stories and draw your attention to the latest developments surrounding El Salvador’s Bitcoin (BTC) bond. Bottomed out? MINA rises 75% nine days after hitting its worst level to date
MINA, a utility token backed by a "lightweight" smart contracts platform of the same name, continued its upside move nine days after rebounding from $1.58, its lowest level to date. The coin rallied by about 75% to reach $2.75 as of March 24 as traders weighed a high-profile funding rounds involving the sale of $92 million worth of MINA tokens to Three Arrows Capital, FTX Ventures, and other venture capitalists. An overall recovery sentiment across the crypto market also assisted in pushing MINA's price higher, since altcoins typically move in tandem with Bitcoin (BTC). Additionally, Coinbase's announcement on March 23 …

Inside the blockchain developers’ mind: How to avoid development hell
Cointelegraph is following the development of an entirely new blockchain from inception to mainnet and beyond through its series, Inside the Blockchain Developer’s Mind, written by Andrew Levine of Koinos Group. We recently released the third and final version of the Koinos testnet, which is why I want to talk about something few projects like to talk about: Building blockchains is development hell. In this article, I’ll explain why and how other developers can avoid getting stuck in it. At first blush, building a blockchain doesn’t sound so hard. A blockchain is just a combination of well-established cryptographic primitives, which, …

Internet Computer founder's $250M plan to help end the war in Ukraine
Internet Computer (ICP) and DFINITY founder Dominic Williams has conjured up an oddball plan to speed up the end of the Russian invasion of Ukraine via smart contracts and $250 million worth of crypto rewards. DFINITY’s Internet Computer was launched in May 2021 and is a public blockchain and protocol that’s trying to decentralize the internet. Williams' March 16 proposal is focused on countering propaganda, and informing the Russian population — who he suggests are in general “completely ignorant” — on the reality of what is actually taking place in Ukraine, which will then, in turn, spur them on to …

3 reasons why Ethereum price can still retest $3K this month
Ethereum's native token Ether (ETH) could reach back to $3,000 in March, backed by a mix of short-term technical, fundamental, and on-chain catalysts. ETH price paints "symmetrical triangle" The first interim bullish outlook for Ether ironically comes from a bearish continuation pattern Notably, ETH's 50%-plus decline from its all-time high of around $4,650 on Dec. 2, 2021, followed up with forming a consolidation channel called a symmetrical triangle. Hence, the Ethereum token has been fluctuating between a falling upper trendline and a rising lower trendline since the beginning of this year. ETH/USD last retested the triangle's lower trendline as support …

Women-led startup to help consumers monetize their data through blockchain
Web2 lets big tech companies collect consumer data without paying the people behind the statistics. Skills acquired from working in business intelligence and machine learning coupled with a passion for Web3 technologies led Jenny Walker and Greta Menzies to create a data marketplace.
