PwC's Strategy&: Security Token Offerings ‘Are Not Fundamentally Different From ICOs’
Security token offerings (STO) are becoming more popular, relative to initial coin offerings (ICO), according to a new report by Big Four firm PwC's global consulting subsidiary Strategy&. Released on March 8, the firm’s forth ICO and STO report was developed in collaboration with the Swiss Crypto Valley Association. Taiwan’s Financial Supervisory Commission (FSC) will establish a new fundraising mechanism based on security token offerings (STOs), according to an article published by financial news outlet Taiwan Economic Daily on Monday, March 4. Thai Parliament Approves Amendments Allowing Issuance of Tokenized Securities
Thailand’s National Legislative Assembly has officially allowed the issuance of tokenized securities on blockchain, major newspaper The Bangkok Post reports on Friday, Feb. 22. The government will amend the Securities and Exchange Act, according to the article. As soon as the changes come into effect later in 2019, tokenized securities such as stocks and bonds can be officially issued on blockchain. Enterprise-Focused Ethereum Standards Consortium EEA to Form ‘Token Task Force’
The Enterprise Ethereum Alliance (EEA), global blockchain community with over 500 members, will launch a “token task force” in 2019, EEA confirmed to Cointelegraph in correspondence on Feb. 13. Thai Securities Regulator Considers Various STO Classifications for Regulatory Framework
