Kaspersky Lab’s security experts have found that cyber criminals were able to steal more than 21,000 in Ethereum (ETH) (worth around $10 million) through social engineering schemes over the past year, Cointelegraph auf Deutsch reports Thursday, July 12. South Korea’s messaging app operator Kakao Corp. is considering offering a private placement to attract investors to develop their blockchain subsidiary, Bloomberg reports today, June 28. Kakao Corporation’s blockchain initiative, the Tokyo-based Ground X, was announced at the end of March as part of the messaging app operator’s new Kakao 3.0 business plan aimed at the wider Asian markets. The recently launched EOS blockchain has resumed operations today, June 17, after “pausing” due to technical issues on June 16, according to the EOS network monitor. The EOS network monitor is currently showing that EOS block producers (BPs) – the equivalent of miners on the Bitcoin blockchain – are “producing right now.” Yesterday, multiple sources reported an issue with the EOS Mainnet, or blockchain, that led to network operations “freezing” less than 48 hours after officially going live.
