3 reasons why Gitcoin (GTC) price has rallied 100% in a month
As the blockchain industry expands and becomes more of a fixture in everyday life, the idea of "one chain to rule them all" and the general ideology of blockchain maximalism is beginning to fall to the wayside, and the focus on interoperability and cross-chain collaboration is coming to the forefront. One project that is specifically designed to help advance the ecosystem as a whole and develop the future of the open internet is Gitcoin (GTC), a community of builders, creators and protocols. Data from Cointelegraph Markets Pro and TradingView shows that the price of GTC has swelled 103% from a …

How crypto can modernize the world of lending
Lending has been around in some form for thousands of years — dating back to ancient civilizations where farmers would borrow seeds and use crops as repayment. The arrival of fiat currencies transformed the way economies were run back then. Indeed, you could argue that we’re seeing such a seismic shift now as cryptocurrencies become a larger and more influential part of the world’s financial ecosystem. When done right, crypto lending has the potential to level the playing field — giving consumers a type of flexibility that they may otherwise have been unaccustomed to. For several years now, the rates …

Crypto couple tells court the IRS has no right to tax newly mined coins
A couple investing in crypto have claimed that coins gained by mining or staking are untaxable until sold, in a complaint filed to federal court. The Tennessee couple is seeking a refund from the United States Internal Revenue Service and filed a complaint with the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee on Tuesday. Joshua and Jessica Jarrett claim that earnings from staking are not taxable transactions because they constitute the creation of property. They compared this to a baker making a cake or an author writing a novel. Law360 reported that the court heard Joshua Jarrett used …

Altcoins rally as bulls pile into large-cap tokens and layer-1 projects
The cryptocurrency market provides investors with another day of 'altseason' as the majority of altcoins in the top 100 on CoinMarketCap rallied today. Several large-cap tokens reached multi-year highs and this all took place as Bitcoin (BTC) price struggles to hold any of the news-event-driven gains that it has accrued throughout the week. One of the most notable performances has been put on by Ethereum Classic (ETC), the “unaltered” Ethereum (ETH) fork that has been gaining traction over the past week as its dedication to a proof-of-work consensus mechanism attracts the attention of miners and retail 'Robinhood' investors. Data from …

Ethereum and Tezos connected via blockchain bridge
The cryptocurrency space just became a little bit more interconnected after developers created a cross-chain bridge between the Ethereum and Tezos blockchains. Following the launch of the Wrap Protocol, created by Bender Labs, Ethereum-based ERC-20 and ERC-721 tokens can be made Tezos-compatible, allowing Ether (ETH) holders to interact with the Tezos ecosystem. Token wrapping has become a common way of connecting the users of disparate blockchain platforms and is perhaps best exemplified by Wrapped Bitcoin (WBTC), which is an ERC-20 version of Bitcoin (BTC) running on Ethereum. The Wrap Protocol wraps Ethereum-based tokens in the Tezos FA2 token standard, meaning …

On the contrary, the bears may be standing by in anticipation of any signs of weakness that could confirm a short-term top. The event that may act as a trigger is the Nasdaq listing for Coinbase's COIN stock on April 14.
