Decentralized exchange Uniswap v3 gets 'Warp'ed' onto StarkNet
Ethereum development company Nethermind has announced it has “transpiled and compiled” decentralized exchange (DEX) Uniswap v3 on “Warp” — a project designed to allow Ethereum users to swap tokens on the more scalable Ethereum layer-2 network StarkNet. The milestone was announced by team lead Jorik Schellekens in an Oct. 9 Medium post. Nethermind describes Warp as a “Solidity to Cairo Transpiler” which enables Ethereum-based projects written in Solidity to transition its codebase onto StarkNet, allowing them to capitalize on cheaper fees. Transpiling is the process of taking source code written in one programming language and transforming it into another language …

Crypto traders shift their focus to altcoins while Bitcoin price consolidates
It has been difficult for Bitcoin (BTC) and the cryptocurrency markets to start a strong sustained recovery while the United States dollar is near its multi-year high and the U.S. equities markets are near their June lows. This shows that the sentiment remains negative and traders are not interested in taking on risk in their portfolios. The U.S. equities markets fell sharply on Oct. 7 following the release of September’s nonfarm payroll data but they did manage marginal gains for the week. The S&P 500 rose 1.5% and the Nasdaq Composite climbed 0.7% last week. Meanwhile, Bitcoin is on track …

What is wrapped Ethereum (wETH) and how does it work?
Traders who use the Ethereum network are familiar with the ERC-20 technical standard and have most likely traded and invested in tokens that utilize it. After all, its practicality, transparency and flexibility have made it the industry norm for Ethereum-based projects. As such, many decentralized applications (DApps), crypto wallets and exchanges natively support ERC-20 tokens. However, there’s one problem: Ether (ETH) and ERC-20 do not exactly follow the same rules, as Ether was created way before ERC-20 was implemented as a technical standard. So, why does wrapped ETH matter? Briefly put, ERC-20 tokens can only be traded with other ERC-20 …

Top 5 cryptocurrencies to watch this week: BTC, ADA, UNI, LINK, CHZ
The S&P 500 rose for the fourth successive week as investors cheered on signs that inflation may have peaked. Bitcoin (BTC) and select altcoins also extended their recovery, suggesting that investors are increasing their exposure to risk assets. A similar trend has played out in the cryptocurrency markets. Altcoins, led by Ether (ETH), have outperformed Bitcoin after clarity on Ethereum’s Merge, according to analysts at Glassnode. However, trading firm QCP Capital is cautious about the momentum in the altcoin market. They highlighted that the open interest on Ether options had surged to $8 billion, exceeding Bitcoin option OI which was …

Uniswap price risks 45% crash by September despite Robinhood listing
The latest Uniswap (UNI) chart pattern suggests that investors should be prepared for a correction after gaining nearly 20% over the past week. A 45% UNI price crash ahead? UNI's price has been trending upward since mid-June inside what appears to be a "rising wedge," which traditional analysts view as a bearish reversal pattern due to its history of luring bulls into buying fake-out bounces. Therefore, rising wedges resolve after the price breaks below the lower trendline. Traders typically calculate a rising wedge's downside target by subtracting the distance between its upper and lower trendline from the breakdown point. That …

UNI, MATIC and AAVE surge after Bitcoin price bounces back above $20K
Crypto investors found cause for celebration on July 14 as the market experienced a positive trading session just one day after the Consumer Price Index (CPI) posted a June print of 9.1%, its highest level since 1981. The move higher in the market wasn’t entirely unexpected for seasoned traders who have become familiar with a one to two-day bounce in asset prices following the most recent CPI prints. These traders also know there’s nothing to get too excited about, as the bounces have typically been followed by more downside once people realize that the high inflation print is a negative …

More than $4.7M stolen in Uniswap fake token phishing attack
A sophisticated phishing campaign targeting liquidity providers (LPs) of the Uniswap v3 protocol has seen attackers make off with at least $4.7 million worth of Ether (ETH). However, the community is reporting the losses could be even greater. MetaMask security researcher Harry Denley was one of the first to raise the alarm bells of the attack, telling his 13,000 Twitter followers on Monday that 73,399 addresses had been sent malicious ERC-20 tokens to steal their assets. ⚠️ As of block 151,223,32, there has been 73,399 address that have been sent a malicious token to target their assets, under the false …

Top 5 cryptocurrencies to watch this week: BTC, UNI, ICP, AAVE, QNT
Bitcoin (BTC) has given up ground over the weekend as investors remain cautious about the United States consumer inflation data to be released on July 13. Analysts anticipate June’s consumer price index to be higher than May’s 8.6% level. Due to the macro uncertainty, investors are not confident that Bitcoin’s correction is over. However, Fidelity Investments’ director of global macro, Jurrien Timmer, said that Bitcoin is back at the 2013 bull market levels “if the price per millions of non-zero addresses“ is considered for valuing it. That implies that “Bitcoin is cheap.” The readings on the Reserve Risk indicator, which …

NFT platform wars could be ahead, says new DappRadar report
DappRader's "Dapp Industry Report for Q2" 2022 raised, among many points, the idea that an upcoming non-fungible token (NFT) platform war could be on the horizon. The report, which was provided to Cointelegraph, spoke of how UniSwap had recently acquired Genie and OpenSea purchased Gem in an effort to expand their respective services to include NFT aggregation tools, which “accumulate NFT offers from various trading platforms.” Meanwhile, newer platforms such as Magic Eden and X2Y2 continue to take from OpenSea’s current 75% NFT marketplace dominance. DappRadar stated, “These acquisitions will most likely pit OpenSea and UniSwap in direct competition with …
