Web3 projects are the talk of the current digital scene, with thousands of new companies coming to life every day in an attempt to ride out this global wave with their own product releases. Unfortunately, reality has shown most of these offerings do not provide any tangible value to their player or user bases. Instead, they rely on superficial hype of cryptocurrencies, NFTs and related buzzwords, a seemingly unnatural method to pursue user growth. At present, these efforts result in short-term successes and not sustainable growth. To ensure projects are built on foundations that enable long-term value, startups are encouraged …
How are blockchain development platforms addressing these concerns? New blockchain development offerings are making it simple for Web 3.0 applications to implement push notifications. A practical solution to these UX issues would need to be simple to implement and enable applications to monitor any address for incoming and outgoing token transactions (cryptocurrency, NFT or otherwise). Developers need to be able to set up push notifications in their own applications quickly and easily across multiple blockchains without learning code for each. Tatum has emerged as a leading blockchain development platform, offering an answer to address these user experience concerns. With their …
“Web3” used to be an empty industry buzzword that described the next iteration of the internet. In 2022, Web3 is still an annoying buzzword, but at least the blockchain community is trying to assign it real-world utility. This week’s Crypto Biz newsletter features several major funding rounds dedicated to building the Web3 economy. After reading through the stories, you can decide whether we’re actually getting closer to defining Web3. Oh, and remember all the buzz surrounding Special Purpose Acquisition Companies, or SPACs? A crypto-focused SPAC just closed an initial public offering on the Nasdaq, raising $115 million in the process. …
Ethereum scaling solution Polygon has launched a new network for Web3 development, pledging $100 million to early users who can help fast-track adoption. The Polygon Supernet chain gives developers the ability to build their projects in a customizable environment without hosting or operational costs, the company announced Friday. Developers will be able to deploy their projects on either a Supernet Sovereign Chain or Supernet Shared Security Chain — the former is managed by a single validator, which reduces maintenance costs, whereas the latter offers an easier path to decentralization with professional validators staking Polygon (MATIC) tokens to validate the network. …
The world knows the public internet as the best transport network and the backbone of their daily routines. However, if one looks closely, the internet is far from perfect, with many considering the network untrusted and its usage synonymous with poor reliability and performance issues. Although these faults were once overlooked, the impending Web3 revolution has led many to recognize just how far the current internet foundation is from supporting the increased usage and performance requirements that come with the metaverse, decentralized finance (DeFi) and other blockchain-technology use cases. Soon, every major company, industry and consumer experience will be shaped …
Web3 has given rise to a number of innovative business models. In particular, decentralized autonomous organizations (DAOs) have started gaining traction as Web3 and the creator economy comes to fruition. Natalie Salemink, CEO and founder of Prismatic — a tooling and treasury management platform for DAOs — told Cointelegraph that DAOs are internet-native organizations that utilize smart contracts to facilitate coordination and governance in pursuit of a common goal. When it comes to traditional businesses, though, one of the most interesting aspects a DAO structure can provide is leadership based on computer-generated code rather than individual authority. The idea of …

The advancement from Web2 to Web3 is believed to be a revolution already in motion. However, few understand just how powerful the implications can be. To illustrate, consider Web2, which marks the era following the dot-com crash. The internet users became accustomed to quicker internet speeds, the rise of streaming sites like YouTube, social media and the mobile internet. Although unintentional, the change in the way the internet was consumed also shifted the foundation of the internet to be increasingly centralized by major tech firms like Facebook and Google. For the end-user, this meant personal data was being collected by …
